Gastrointestinal Cancers

Cancers of the esophagus, stomach, pancreas or other parts of the gastrointestinal tract may be treated using radiation therapy. It is useful following surgery to help prevent the cancer from coming back. It also is useful for patients who are not able to have surgery either because of other health problems or because of the size or location of the tumor. TomoTherapy® is ideally suited for these types of cancers because this technology allows careful sculpting of the radiation beam so that surrounding tissues are spared, often reducing the side effects of radiation.
