Radiation therapy with or without surgery is an effective treatment for many non-melanoma skin cancers. It is especially desirable when the cancer is in a visible area (i.e. the face and arms) because it may offer a better cosmetic result than surgery. Radiation can also be used when melanoma skin cancer spreads to other parts of the body.
Skin cancer can be effectively treated at Capital Regional Cancer Center using electron beam therapy delivered by our Varian linear accelerator.
